Terms of use for Wallace
These terms are the same as the Legal page in the app (Settings → About Wallace → Legal).
Provided as is
Wallace is published by Benjamin Burk, Germany (“the publisher”).
Wallace is free of charge. It is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. This includes the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
The publisher does not promise that Wallace is free of errors, that it is always available, or that a service will accept its codes.
Syncing between your devices is done by iCloud Keychain, a service that Apple runs under its own terms. The publisher does not run this service and makes no promise about it.
Limited liability
The publisher is not liable for lost access to accounts, for lost data, or for indirect or consequential loss that comes from using Wallace or from not being able to use it.
This limit has exceptions. It does not apply to damage caused deliberately or by gross negligence, to death or injury to body or health, to liability under product liability law, or wherever else the law does not allow liability to be limited.
Your legal rights
Some countries do not allow warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited in this way, especially for consumers. If the law of the country you live in gives you rights that cannot be excluded, you keep them, and nothing in these terms takes them away.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for keeping a way back into each of your accounts. Keep the recovery codes that each service gives you, and keep your previous authenticator until you have confirmed that Wallace’s codes work.
Wallace does not store recovery codes and cannot bring back an account that has been permanently deleted.
iCloud Keychain is not a backup: a permanent deletion reaches all your devices. Wallace can export an encrypted backup, but only you can keep the file and its passphrase safe, and Wallace cannot open a backup without the passphrase.
Breach information
Breach reports are general information from a public list. They do not confirm that your own account was affected, and the absence of a report does not mean that an account is safe.
Wallace does not check the list and cannot promise that it is complete, correct or up to date.
The breach data comes from Have I Been Pwned, which licenses it under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Under that licence the data comes as is, without warranties.
Wallace changes how the data looks. It shows only part of each entry, shows the descriptions as plain text without their formatting and links, and adds its own labels. Matching a report to your services is done by Wallace on your device, not by Have I Been Pwned.
No affiliation
Wallace is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc., by Have I Been Pwned, or by any service whose accounts you add to it.
Apple, Face ID, iPad, iPhone, Keychain, Mac and Touch ID are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries and regions. App Store, iCloud and iCloud Keychain are service marks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries and regions.

Licence agreement
If you get Wallace from the App Store, the licence agreement you accept there applies as well. Unless the App Store page for Wallace shows a separate agreement, that is the standard agreement Apple publishes for apps, the Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
These terms do not replace that agreement.

Never send setup keys, QR codes, codes, backup files or backup passphrases by email. The publisher will never ask for them.
The publisher cannot see your accounts and cannot restore access to them. For a lost account, use the service’s own recovery options or your encrypted backup.
